Greetings Reader!
I've wondered from time to time what it would be like if life didn't depend on water. For certain, people cannot thrive or even live without clean water. The Bible also includes many references to "water of life" and "living water."
🌈We are created with a need for clean water and also spiritual living water.
March 22 is World Water Day. It's an opportunity to highlight the importance of fresh water. Tragically, more than 2 billion people live without access to clean water, according to the United Nations.
Unicef created a fantastic video that contextualizes a situation that millions of people face daily. In many countries it is the young girls or women who are tasked with carrying water. And, without a doubt, the water is not pure. ✨ Watch this short video and discuss what surprised you. How would you feel in that situation?
In the tropical country of Cambodia an estimated 2-3 million people get their daily drinking water from unsafe water sources. Rural communities gather water from rainfall, wells, rivers, or standing water. Concordia Welfare & Education Foundation provides families in rural Cambodia with access to safe drinking water through biosand water filters.
✨Read more about these simple but impactful filters here. The article includes photos and a video from project sites.
Concordia Welfare & Education Foundation is a trusted NGO that brings safe, clean drinking water to communities in rural China and rural Cambodia. I've seen firsthand the impact of clean water at project sites in Yunnan province. You can read Stories of Hope on their website to learn how families and schools have been positively impacted by fresh water. If you would like to support a clean water project in China or Cambodia, here are links for learning more and to make a secure donation. 🎥 https://cwef.wistia.com/medias/akhgxldh5o Donate: https://donorbox.org/cwef-worldwaterday

Hey there,Reader ! It's MeiMei here this week! In today's newsletter I want to talk to you a bit about the idea of "opening your eyes." Something that I know many of us fall prey to is having "blinders" on during a busy or stressful season. We often focus on one thing -- which can be considered our end goal -- and that limits our distractions and keeps us from straying from our main task. I'm not implying that this is a bad thing whatsoever, because there truly are times when we need to focus...
Hi there Reader! It’s MeiMei here this week – it’s been a bit since I last wrote to you. A LOT has happened since then. In the past two weeks I’ve graduated high school and moved to the USA. 🎉Those are two pretty big milestones and they come with a lot of changes. My graduation was a meaningful experience to say the least. After attending Concordia International School Shanghai for 14 years, my graduation was both eagerly anticipated and reluctantly experienced. It’s hard to close a chapter...
Greetings Reader! In the midst of preparing for graduation and an international move, we've been taking a trip down memory lane. While cleaning out our game cabinet, we had a fun and interesting conversation about the board game "Life." It's been around for a long time, with updates and refreshed graphics. Game of Life is an American classic board game where players spin a wheel to move along a path of life events, such as education, career, marriage, and children. 👉The objective is to...
